How to take care of succulents

Whether you are new to house plants or you want add something a little different to your collection succulents are a really good place to start!


This popular house plant is one of the little less needy varieties and a great addition to any home.


If you have newly purchased a succulent pant and now a wondering how to care for it? give this quick guide a read and let’s get started on your house plant journey with success!

Light – Like all house plants light is one of the most important factors to think about, succulents like a lot of light and will be very happy on a sunny window, just remember to rotate your plant now and again.

Water – Succulents don’t like to sit in water or have soggy soil, you can either water directly into the soil, making sure the water is coming through the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. If it doesn’t have drainage holes give a little less water, alternatively you can sit your plant in a shallow bowl of water when the top of the soil is wet take out of the water and let drain.

Keep it clean – House dust can settle on to the leaves, just give them a quick clean with a damp cloth making sure they are free from dust.

Soil – Your succulent should already be in the correct soil, but if you did want to repot make sure its good draining soil, cactus soil will be fine. If repotting do not go up in pot size to

much as they like to be pot bound, they also have delicate roots so just be a little careful when doing this.
